Delightful ACORN parure is being sold on consignment by

In North America, it's autumn right now, and when I saw this set above which has been given to me to sell on consignment, I couldn't help but think "fall" as we call autumn over here. What a charming set of bracelet, necklace and earrings! And it's in wonderful condition too.

The lady who asked us to sell it for her (one of my regular customers who owns a large collection of costume jewelry) indicated that this is possibly an unsigned SELRO. I'm not all that familiar with that vintage costume jewelry designer, but if any of you reading this blog can shed some light on that, I'd be very grateful. Certainly, the workmanship and materials used are of designer quality.

The necklace in this vintage "acorn" parure is 16" long and has 13 brown and beige acorns, nestled in gold-plated leaves. There are 6 clusters of the same in the 7" bracelet, and a cluster in each of the 1 1/4" clip-on earrings which are stamped "pat  pending".  Something about this set makes me think of cosying up in a sweater in front of a roaring fireplace. Just perfect "in the cool, cool, cool of the evening..."

Another piece whose colors are just perfect for the autumn season and which we are also selling on consignment for yet another customer is the designer handcrafted LEATHER LILY PIN below:

Yes, I know lilies are more suited to Easter, but again, it's the colors in this wonderful piece by "DAPHNE" that make me think autumn ... you know, that last bit of green against which the flower is showing some browning ... etc etc.
We're priced this one so low to sell it for our client. It's only $25. What an inexpensive, but welcome Christmas gift, maybe for Grandma from her favourite Grandchild?

From the same consigner who is offering the Acorn Parure above, comes this popular TOPAZ KITE BRACELET by JULIANA shown below:

Again, how perfect are those deep brown topaz crystals for fall? Immediately identifiable to collectors of Juliana by the 5 link construction, this lovely kite bracelet accented by large aurora borealis stones weighs an impressive 56 grams.   It's on sale at DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at RUBY LANE and our consigner will consider your offers. Why not try yours today?

And while this next piece isn't costume jewelry, since we talking about jewelry whose colors suit the season, one of our newer additions to our RUBY LANE SHOP is the stunning genuine golden topaz and diamond ring shown below:

This gorgeous 10k ring features a nearly 8ct utterly clear genuine topaz flanked either side by 4 bright diamonds. The setting is stunning and such a large stone is  definitely eye-catching. The price is right too. Check it out HERE!

Just a reminder that currently, several of our top jewelry pieces have been put in our CLEARANCE CENTER at RUBY PLAZA for a limited time. Be sure to pop over and take a look around. Some items have been reduced as much as $500, and the clearance prices include designers like Cartier, Tiffany & Van Cleef & Arpels. But they are available at these lowered prices for a LIMITED TIME only. So act now to save. Thanks for reading.

Maybe it's because my birthstone is amethyst ... or maybe it's because back in university when  everyone was telling everyone else what "color" you remind them  of (I got colored "iridescent purple") that I have always loved and been drawn to amethyst jewelry. There's something about that violet purple gemstone that I find soothing, calming.

And from what I've been reading, for those who believe in the healing powers of gemstones, that is indeed one of the powers of amethyst. "Having a piece in the bedroom will promote restful sleep and peaceful dreaming". Well apart from the jewelry we have (rings, bracelets, necklaces ... watch the video above to see what's available at DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at RUBY LANE and DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at RUBY PLAZA) we also have several huge pieces of raw amethyst around our home, similar to the one shown here:

We never purchased these rocks for any purpose other than we simply love the iridescence, sparkle and rich deep purple color of amethyst, but researching this gemstone has yielded even more interesting information:

"Amethyst comes from the Greek word 'amethustos'... meaning non-drunk. One of the interesting facts about Amethyst is that the ancient Greeks made cups from the purple stone as they believed it could prevent you from becoming inebriated.

This Amethyst meaning has been found to be true ... as healers use it today as it assists you to beat addictions.... and this was also believed by the ancient Greeks.
If you have addictive habits such as smoking, drinking or drug addictions you may be assisted by using Amethyst crystals"

Well I don't know how true any of that is, but if you believe in the power of gemstones, and feel you could benefit from what amethyst has to offer, then we have plenty of amethyst jewelry pieces in our DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY SHOPS to  fill your need. Here's one of our most recent additions to DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at RUBY LANE:

It's a 34" long necklace of 1/4" to 5/16" genuine, irregular-shaped amethyst gemstones, and it weighs a whopping 93 grams! These are smoothly polished stones with a beautiful rich purple color. Hold them up to the light and look right  through. Touch them ... cool, soothing, lovely. Here's another shot closeup:

We've also added the SWAROVSKI amethyst crystal and simulated pearl beads shown below to our DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY SHOP at RUBY PLAZA today.

In either DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY SHOP, just type "amethyst" into the search box to bring up all amethyst jewelry and add an amethyst ring, bracelet or necklace to your collection today.

If you're Anne Hathaway, Demi Moore, Kate Hudson or many other celebrities, you usually get to wear the most gorgeous ... and most expensive jewelry in the world, much of it made by Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpel, Bulgari, Tiffany ...

Much of the time, you don't even have to own it. According to the article HERE, to celebrate Cartier's 100th anniversary, Cartier simply brought in tons of stars and decked them out in Cartier jewels. The stars were dripping in bling! Demi was wearing the less expensive stuff valued at only $189,000 worth of diamonds. Kate, on the other hand, "iced out" in more than $1,000,000 worth of bling. Sheesh! I'd be terrified of wearing something worth that even if I could afford it or even if Cartier asked me to wear it ... as if that could ever happen LOL!

And then there's Anne Hathaway on the right wearing white pearl and diamond pendant earrings diamond bracelets, a 13-carat diamond ring, all adding up to over 100 carats of diamonds from Van Cleef & Arpels! Nice!

Now I guess that means that the rest of us, the non-celebrities, the everyday housewife, the deserving but not rich enough ladies who love beautiful jewelry have to settle for dreaming about owning a Cartier or Van Cleef & Arpels ring, necklace or bracelet. If you do a search at THE FIND, or eBay, or IstDibs, you may well conclude even further that such famous designer signed pieces can never be yours.

Not so! While we don't have Cartiers and Van Cleef & Arpels, Tiffanys etc that are dripping with diamonds (and hence unaffordable) we do have a small selection of items by these famous designers at incredibly affordable prices in our DIVINE FIND SHOPS. Look at this superb "Wave" Ring by Cartier below:

Fashioned from 18k yellow gold and featuring over half a carat of diamonds, it can be yours for less than $2000. Or to think that the famous Cartier Double C diamond ring below can be yours, now on sale, for only $1095! WOW!

Or if you prefer to flash around a Van Cleef & Arpels ring, how about this beauty for less than $1800? It's ON SALE right now in our RUBY PLAZA shop:

There's several others to choose from in both our DIVINE FINDS SHOPS, some with higher price tags but all just exquisite designer signed pieces. So who says you can't wear Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and others? Only YOU if you don't go and check out our items being offered at reasonable and affordable prices. Tell that husband of yours that you want to bling like a celebrity at those Christmas parties and tell him where to look: DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY!

Outstanding beauty in this 1940's Amethyst, pearl and diamond pendant  set in 14k & available exclusively from DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at RUBY PLAZA

Why choose a pendant over a full necklace when accessorizing your outfit? Depending on the pendant, it can simply add a touch of femininity to a business suit or, if it's like the magnificent pendant shown in the photo above, it will be the piece de resistance that tops off that little black dress at those upcoming Christmas cocktail parties.

In history, pendants go back a long way. Excavations in 1922 in the land of the Pharoahs uncovered gold pendants and bracelets dating to 3000 BC.  And in eight century BC, the Etruscans used gold to fashion hollow pendants to hold perfume. A great deal of "mourning" jewelry in the Victorian era included pendants filled with lockets of hair in memory of a loved one. And to this day, pendants and lockets that open up to hold a photo of a mother or lover are still popular gifts. Even my personal everyday jewelry is a simple gold necklace from which hang two pendants given to me by my daughter. One is a lovely cameo of mother and child. The other, a simple heart saying "mom".

But when it's dress-up time, give me something like that Amethyst, pearl and diamond pendant above. What a beauty! It's a post Art-Deco piece weighing 20.27 grams and fashioned from both white and yellow 14k gold. It's focal point is the 18.30mm X 14.70mm natural cabochon amethyst at its center that we estimate to be 13 to 15cts. It's framed by 6 pink/peach cultured pearls and nearly .70cts of brilliant rose-cut diamonds. The artistic design and superb workmanship make this a pendant so eye-catching, it will set any woman apart as one who has great taste in jewelry. You can learn more about this pendant and see several more photos by visiting DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY.

If your wallet isn't deep enough to afford that pendant, but you love the older style, check out this fabulous 9ct. Edwardian pendant below:

Delightful EDWARDIAN bow pendant with rubies & seed pearls  is available from DIVINE FINDS JEWELRY at  RUBY LANE

The price is considerably less but again, the design is elegant and the pendant is vibrant with all those natural rubies and darling seed pearls. This delightful  pendant is 1 3/4" long by 1 1/4" wide and is permanently attached to its chain. With its pretty bow design, it's feminine and just begs to be in that special box wrapped up with a bow beneath your Christmas tree. Learn more about this RUBY & SEED PEARL PENDANT HERE.
